I heard an inspiring story about leadership and empowerment yesterday. Maria Silva is from Brazil. She was illiterate until age 16 but perseverance is the key to her success. When asked in an interview whether she was an optimist or pessimist , she said she was neither one nor the other but that she was persistent. She is known as an environmentalist and activist and today she is the presidential candidate for Brazil.
